    1. [DONEGALEIRE] Two GVRBs?
    2. Listers, I need a bit of help here. I am researching the Meehans of Point in the Parish of Inver and sent for the Griffiths Valuation Revision Lists so that I could see the transfer of land from circa 1855 via the two censuses to the people who hold the land now so that I could work out who belonged to which family. Should have been easy. But when I got the film, I found TWO complete Book Ones. In the first a Sarah Meehan takes over from the George Meehan, who was in Plot 2 in the GV, via a man called Richard Scott and it is dated 1863. In the second, there is no George Meehan at all; Sarah takes over from Richard Scott (who is NOT of course in the GV itself) and the date is exactly the same - 1863. Most of the rest of the entries are the same. It is George Meehan who is the centre of my research. Neither book has a hard cover (which would have given a date for the whole book) and the second one is also missing the index though I am not sure what that would have told me as there is no date on any of the indices. What is this all about? I have digipics if anyone feels s/he might be able to help. 1. [DONEGALEIRE] Belfast and Ulster Directories
    2. Ray
    3. Hello All, just googled and found this wonderful work in one of the results. I just love the serendipity of finding something valuable when looking for something else. haha. http://www.liscni.co.uk/docs/Belfast_and_Ulster_Street_Directories.pdf I have only skimmed through the publication, but it seems to be a most wonderful resource of all known Directories for Belfast and Ulster. As such it makes a wonderful checklist of Directories to try to look at when in Ireland researching our families. If anyone knows of any of these Directories being on-line, would he/she please post the URL, so that those of us away from Ireland (as well as the locals. lol) might be able to investigate them at home. Thanks in advance for any such input. Happy reading. (Apologies for cross-posting on several lists) Ray in Oz

    3. I prepared an Excel file for the surnames Reilly/McIntyre/McIntire in Donegal, 144 entries This will allow you to check in each Parish/Townland/Placename to see where the two surnames show up together. It will at least give you a starting point, then you can proceed and see if the records are available. Bob CDN --------- The Excel file is attached to this message it will go to Michael but will not show up on the Mailing List since Rootsweb do not allow attachedment The raw file is embedded with this 3. Donegaleire Friends, When I opened my email program this morning, there were at least 10 addresses that had been automatically unsubscribed by the Rootsweb ListServe. I am not sure why they were unsubscribed, but usually it is because the listserve has tried 10 times to send messages to the address and the messages have "bounced". But that many addresses going bad all at once is very very unusual. I'm letting you know this just in case there is some problem going on that I am not aware of. If you should find that the listserve unsubscribes you and you did NOT request it, you can always send an email to Donegaleire@rootsweb.com and put the word subscribe in the bod of the message. You can also email me at postalq@grnco.net. I always suggest that when you subscribe to the list, you save your Welcome message in a folder in your email. That way you can always have instructions on how to subscribe or unsubscribe from the list. I hope everyone is having a wonderful start to the warmer weather. Have a great weekend. Carol- listowner
