    3. I would like to add my best wishes to Lindel for a speedy recovery. long ago I stumbled upon a page in rootsweb with the name of one of my ancestors, and Lindel's email address offering more detailed information. As many others have reported, Lindel was extremely gracious and amazingly fast in providing useful information. Although I have only interacted with her the one time, I have always remembered how kind she was in looking up information (on families she wasn't even researching). Chas Andre, San Francisco

    3. Everyone's love and concern is overwhelming. I will cut and paste all the emails and put them into one and send it to Lindel's Mom. I saw this in my inbox after I emailed the list about Lindel's condition. The following is an update on Lindel's condition from her Mom. Beannachtai (Blessings) Margaret (Mairead) Sunday, June 6, 2004 Helloo! Well, I was not satisfied with the lack of anti-biotic action (!!) so I phoned the hospital last night to speak to the nurse in charge, and find out why. She explained that they have been checking Lindel's white cell count every day and it has not altered, which indicates there in no infection present (thank God!). So, the latest is it's not the leads causing the problem but pericarditis, caused by the insertion of the drain into the pericardium during the op, and the damage it created. This explains the extreme pain she is experiencing, and its location etc. She also has a small clot in her lung and is receiving anti-coagulants to dissolve it. I would have liked to have had this explained to me during out visit on Saturday, but obviously I spoke to the wrong person. Anyway, now I know the full story I feel a little more secure, and I think you will too, though she is by no means out of the woods yet. I will be back with another update soon. Thanks for all the messages and prayers...keep then going, please. Warmest regards Merle O'Donnell

    3. Margaret, Thank you so much for letting us all know about Lindel. She is a much loved member of this list. She has been a blessing to so many of us. My prayers are that God will give the physicians the knowledge and skills to assess her condition and speed her recovery. I would also pray that God give her the strength to overcome and spare her as much pain as possible. Lindel, you are in my thoughts and prayers. Carol

I was, I think, the first person to write in her guestbook when she first started her website (after she'd been to Ireland with her darling wee son). She's a wonderfully helpful person, and I hope she's well again very soon. z Margo z

I received the following message from her Mom Merle O'Donnell on May 20. "Helloooooo! I'm writing this a night before we head off to Christchurch for my operation and mum will be filling in the (gory) details, to let you know how it all went. I hope she says its all good!!! No idea when I'll be home and able to email anyone, but you'll hear from me soon :-) Mums bit - Well, I hate to say it after that cheery little message, but it all went horribly wrong!! The scariest 24 hours of my life! The surgeon extracted one old line and in doing so, tore a hole in her heart which quickly bled into her pericardium. Fortunately they were able to stop the bleeding, but a drain had to be inserted to remove the blood which had collected and she was monitored for further bleeding. Somehow we all got thru the night. I have never seen anyone in so much agony as our poor Lindel...doped to the eyebrows on morphine and still no pain relief. Anyway, today the drain was removed and she was transferred to the Coronary Unit at Christchurch hospital where she is recovering and under constant survellance and assessment. Tonight the pain had eased a little, and she was showing some spark, especially when she learned how much of her money we have spent over the past couple of days (I'm in charge of her wallet!) So that's a very good sign she's on the road to recovery. So, sorry to be so slow in advising you, but it has been a very hectic and stressful time." After receiving this message a few days later the news was better and Lindel was starting to improve. She was able to go home. Then on June 5, I received the following email from Merle. "Hellooo, You must be wondering what has happened to Lindel since she has been off line since Wednesday. She is back in Christchurch hospital after developing an infection on Wednesday. Unfortunately, I have no further news for you other than the med team have taken bood cultures and and we are awaiting the results. Meantime they are managing her pain and sedating her, but have not yet pput her back on anti-biotics which I find rather distressing...reason? It's a long holiday weekend here (!!) We, Don, myself and the two boys visited her in hosp yesterday and found her quite chirpy for a while, but she tired quickly and soon needed further medication. It appears now, contrary to previous assessment, that the infection may be in the pacemaker lines. Please keep up your prayers, she's a very sick girl." I told Merle I would let you know what was happening with Lindel because she needs everyone's prayers. I got to know Lindel several years ago and immediately she was such a great help. A few years ago when I spoke with Mike Mackle(Member) from New Zealand I told Lindel about it and asked her if she was familiar with the town Mike was from. She laughed and said she had attended Mike's family reunion. She is related to Mike through the Mackles and thus to me, but of course we haven't figured it out yet, since the Mackles seems to be numerous but elusive! Lindel is most generous and lets me send her information and pictures of Ballyhillion and Clonca Parish, Malin Head, County Donegal and she posts them to her Donegal list. Lindel is an amazing person. She has a toddler Connor and son Liam who is about 4, yet she has had the time to help so many people with their family research. Many prayers are being sent to Lindel from all over the world for a speedy recovery. Go raib maith agat. 1. Doohan name in Creeslough, Co. Donegal
    2. Sherrie Heyse
    3. I am researching the names of Doohan, Wilkinson, and Durning in the town of Creeslough, Co. Donegal, Clondahorky Parish, Barony of Kilmacreman, Dunfanaghy Poor Law Union. Creeslough appears to be a small town now but I don't know if it was earlier in the century. Neil Doohan and Letitia Wilkinson Doohan, birth unkown but probably circa 1865. Known children are Hugh born 1893, Anthony born between 1896-1898, James born 1899, and Letitia born 1901. These siblings immigrated to Phildadelphia PA, USA starting with Hugh in 1913 and ending in 1924 with Leticia. Neil Doohan is reported as living in 1940 but Leticia Wilkinson Doohan is thought to have died early in the century. Cousins to these Doohan sibs are Denis and Michael Durning. On marriage license's of Hugh in 1921, Letitia Wilkinson Doohan is listed as deceased. Both parents are listed as born in Co. Donegal, Ireland. Neil Doohan is listed as a courtsman (unkown what this occupation is) and on another document Neil is listed as a farmer. Bridget Doohan, sister of Neil Doohan, married James Durning and they are buried at Doe Chapel, Co. Donegal. They died in 1905. Denis and Michael immigrated to Philadelphia in the early 20th century with a sister named Rose Durning. Rose has also been reported by descendants to have been a half sister to the Doohans instead of a cousin She left the Doohan family and took the name Durning, reason unkown. This is undocumented. On immigration records she is listed as a cousin to Hugh and paid for his ticket to Phildaphia, PA. I have information on descendants and have several descendants in my research group. Thanks for any help the list can give. My husband is a grandson of Hugh Doohan and great grandson of Neil Doohan and Leticia Wilkinson Doohan. Sherrie Heyse, 8524 ST. Ives Place Cincinnati, OH 45255

The new look Church, with its new sound systems, wiring, carpet and freshly painted, will open for Sunday Mass on Sunday, 9th March at 10.30 a.m. Thanks to all involved in the Carrowmenagh Community Centre Committe, for all their hard work in preparing and making the Centre available for Sunday Mass during the last few months." Dear Patrick have you tried Ben Palmer's excellent website on Moville and district: http://www.benpalmer.co.uk/movillerecords.htm Until the 1980s, there was an old tin chapel down at Shroove not far from Ballyleeghan-not sure if it was named.
