Greetings everyone, I’ve hit a complete dead end in my genealogy research on my paternal side and would love nothing more than to break down the brick wall that has held me back. My great-great grandfather (Simon Bischof). emigrated to Milwaukee, WI back in 1923 with his family from Zsablya, Hungary. Since that area is now located in Serbia, I have found it impossible to obtain any information on vital records. I was told the records office in Novi Sad is in a complete state of disarray and it would be extremely difficult to locate any one willing to help. I know my family was Lutheran which seems to make It even more difficult. I would be so extremely grateful for any advice or tips on trying to conduct genealogy research in this area!!
