Hi Camilla, All, Are you on Ancestry DNA? Constantin and I match on My Heritage and on FamilyTreeDNA. My Heritage does show that we share a common connection with Lorraine Bushek (hope I have that name correct). I'm not sure how we connect yet though. On 23andMe you can also see common matches, as long as you are a match. I don't know of a way to share if you are not matches. FamilyTreeDNA will also show common matches, but the number of testers is not high. One benefit of Ancestry though is that you can share the DNA results as Read Only with another user. (Similar to the way you can share trees.) In that way you can search for common matches even if you do not match each other. i.e. search for surnames and locations of the matches. If you do get lucky enough to find someone with a good tree it can be helpful. I have done this with several people on my Father's side, and on my Mom's mother's side. I was able to scan the results and come up with several dozen leads. If anyone would like to share please let me know. I am rayreu at Ancestry or [email protected] You can send a request through the Settings of the DNA test. I will reciprocate the share and maybe we can find some common relatives to triangulate. Yes, my mother-in-law took the ancestry.com DNA test. I have made some matches on that site. I've been reluctant to share her DNA data without her permission. I will ask her. Thanks! -- Camilla A.
