    3. Thank you John. Perhaps Beth will respond when she reads our messages. Mine is also my fourth great grandfather. Also an unresolved portion of my tree. The reason I ask is that my mother has a dna match whose ancestors are Becker from Apatin. None of the other branches of her tree make sense to me. Where my family is from, the name used is Beck. Johann Beck born approx. 1806 and father Michael born approx. 1777. I was just hoping to solve a mystery. What I have on Apatin is from Beth Tolfree, Village Coordinator (http://www.dvhh.org/apatin), who kindly sent me scans of relevant pages from the book for my Verbanatz relations. My Becker from Apatin is my fourth great-grandmother Elizabeth Becker, who married a Michael Verbanatz. Though she had several children in Apatin, I don’t know if she is originally from Apatin or if her parents even were. Her father was supposedly Joseph, and she would have been born probably sometime before 1800 (which is a guess on my part). I know Michael died in Veliskovci, but I know very little of Elizabeth. This is a foggy part of my tree which I would like to solve at some point. John W. I see that you have a Becker from Apatin. Do you happen to have the family book for Apatin? I am looking for a Michael or Johann Becker/Beck/Beckman that may have been born there. Michael in the late 1700's. Johann in the early 1800's. Or anyone else that may have this information. Thank you in advance. 3. Hello All, Below is a list of families in my family tree that I am currently researching: * HÜBEL(Hubl, Hipl) from Jabuka/Apfeldorf (Banat), Brestowatz (Banat), Pantschowa/Pancevo (Banat), Schelovicy/Schelovice (Moravia), Any info on Schelovic/Gross or Klein Seelowitz is appreciated. (My roadblock). I have new information that may indicate that Schelovic may be in error. Which means that he could have come from anywhere in Moravia. * BECK (Bek, Peck, Becker, Beckmann) from Jabuka/Apfeldorf (Banat), Homilitz/Omolijca (Banat), and possibly Pantschowa (Supposedly born there in 1806 but unable to locate birth record. Parents maybe from Alsace Lorraine). (Another roadblock). New information indicates that he could have been previously from Vrsac or Apatin. * FLANJAK (Flanyak) from Jabuka/Apfeldorf (Banat), Glogon (Banat), Borcsa (Banat), Slunj (Croatia), Blagaj (Croatia). Would like to locate church records in Croatia. Also interested in the experiences and fate of those from the region that fought with the Prince Eugen division during WWII. * Jabuka/Apfeldorf in Banat (and surroundings villages) families: * FLANJAK, * BECK, * HÜBEL, * METHA. * TÖRÖCSEK, * BALOGH, * BALIN, * SKLENA, * MERGEL, * KRALLITSCH(KRALIC), * KIEFER, * VOGEL, * KULCVAR. * Glogon and Borcsa families: * CZINDERICH (CINDRIC), * FLANJAK, * TROLLMAN, * BERNHARDT. Families from other eastern European regions: * GUBESCH and THEISS from Kallesdorf (Arcalia), Petersdorf, Bistritz (Siebenburgen, Austria Hungary, Romania). * SCHIWANOWITSCH (Schivanovits, Zsivanovits) from Bistritz (Siebenburgen, Austria Hungary, Romania), Baja Mare in Romania, Hungary, and possibly Croatia or Serbia. * KOVACS from Brasov (Romania). * MEHLFAERBER, ZAWODNIK, NEU, STAHL, SANDOR (SCHANDE), HAWELKA, MEZIBRODSKA from Jakobeny (Iacobeni), Kirlibaba, Dorna Vatra (Bukovina, Austria Hungary, Romania). I believe the Mehlfaerbers to be Zipsers from Slovakia. Zawodnik could possibly be from southern Poland. Thank you in advance for any assistance. Rita in Colorado PS: Any Colorado Donauschwaben interested in getting together to share culture and genealogy efforts?
