Hello Joy, I followed my BEITZ (Peitz) ancestors back to Johann Klaudius BEITZ born about 1744 in Bühl, "Deutsch Lothringen" (Lorraine). He migrated to Bogarosch/Bogáros/Bulgăruş in the Banat, where he died in 1787.The Familienbuch Bogarosch containes six pages of BEITZ (Peitz,Baitz). Later on, some members of the family moved to the neighbouring village of Neusiedel/Ujhely/Uihei. My grandmother Katharina BEITZ was born in Neusiedel in 1883 and married Johann LUKAS from Alexanderhausen/Sandorhaza/Şandra. They spent about 1912 to 1920 in Cincinnati, Ohio, where my mother was born. At the time, there were other members of the BEITZ family living in Cincinnati, some returned to the Banat, while others stayed on. I have the Familienbuch Bogarosch 1768-2008 by Ewald Spang.
