Gabrielle, Yes, he does seem to get confused on these two families. In the listing for Anton Fernbach (#0266), a son Johann is listed as marrying Magdalena Faller 23 Feb 1829. But for the family of Peter Faller (#0239), daughter Katharina marries Johann Fernbach on an unknown date. And this Katharina is the only one that matches the Katymar data, where I suspect year of birth was estimated from supposed age at death. If the marriage records in Kolut don't give parents (and the Martin Thess - Katharina Faller record did not), then you are left to try to piece together the families and errors can happen. Thanks for pointing this out. It seems plausible and it may be possible to argue it based on who were the godparents for their children born in Kolut before the move to Katymar. I always believed that Katharina would have to be born in Kolut, since the Fallers in Kolut emigrated there at least by 1761. --Dave From: Da Nube [mailto:da.nube@yahoo.com] Sent: Saturday, July 19, 2014 1:59 PM To: Timothy Ottinger; David Velten; donauschwaben-villages@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [DVHH] FALLER and THESS from Kolut Dave, I think that there is a mistake in the Kolut book by Jakob Schuy (not the only one, unfortunately). Under family number 0239 a daughter Katharina is born to Peter Faller and Anna Maria Reeb on 11 Sep 1809. The book mentiones that this Katharina married Johann Fernbach. This is not true. The only Johann Fernbach at that time married Magdalena Faller, born 11 Jun 1808, daughter to Andreas Faller and Katharina Pfeiffenroth. I think the mistake was made because at the birth of the first child of Johann Fernbach and Magdalena Faller the mother is wrongly named Katharina. At all further births the mother is called Magdalena. This would make Katharina, born 11 Sep 1809 to Peter and Anna Maria Reeb a probable candidate for your Katharina. Gabrielle "
