    3. Dear Fellow Listers and DVHH Members, Henry is absolutely correct in supporting Rose's comments and publically. Thank you Rose and Henry. The sole purpose of this mail list (DVHH-L) is to be a medium for the DVHH.org, --an extension of the DVHH mission. And although many subscribers positions are not exactly the same as the DVHH's, there's a limit to the tolerance expected of those who hold positions within the DVHH, such as our Editors: Rose Vetter, Nick Tullius, Henry Fischer, Rose Mary Keller Hughes and myself. Trust us, if ever anything is made public - you can best believe attempts have already been made to resolve the matter privately, to no avail. Joe, --in ref to your comment . . . " Many of us Shwoveh are unhappy about being called „Danube Swabians“ as a leftover of the Weimar colonialism and Nazi „Drang nach Osten“ " Perhaps you'd be happier on a different mail list, because we are Danube Swabian and we're going to stay that way! Our motto written on every DVHH web page is " Keeping the Danube Swabian legacy alive " - if you're not in support of that, you are on the wrong mail list! Joe, do not use the DVHH mail list as a platform for your soap box meme. Dear Fellow Listers, Whether Rose's email was meant to be private or not she is fulfilling her responsibility as part of the Editorial Committee of the DVHH whose task is to maintain the integrity of our mandate and purpose as it applies to our membership and postings. This is a very difficult role to play and we owe Rose our gratitude for her conscientious efforts in this regard on all our behalf and for the ongoing welfare and health of the DVHH. Rose... I think you really meant this to be a private scolding. Publically berating someone makes everyone uncomfortable. Hello Joe, I’ve been reading your recent posts with growing concern. In one of them you went as far as congratulating one of our mail list members on “a good fight”, along with an invitation to join you on another forum. A remark like that is hardly in line with our policy of being kind to each other on this mail list. I feel that your highly political and confrontational comments are in contravention of our Mailing List Guidelines which you will find here: http://www.dvhh.org/community/mail-list.htm This forum is intended for people who want to research the ancestry, history and heritage of our people who settled along the middle course of the Danube; they called themselves “Schwowe” in their language or “Mundart”. The collective term “Donauschwaben, Danube Swabian, Podunavske Švabe”, etc. has been accepted in history books and literature in different languages, whether you accept it or not—who are we to change it? Your "Englishized", as you call it, version--Shwovish, Shwobe, Shwoveh--is non-existent in any publications, and your attempt to change the established terminology is, in my humble opinion, not acceptable. I know I’m not alone in saying that some of your comments are inflammatory and an affront to the memory of the ancestors we hold so dear. I’m afraid that some of your irrational comments might discourage some of our mail list members from voicing their opinions, or even cause them to leave this forum. Therefore, Joe, although I’ve been hesitant about posting this message, after spending some sleepless hours agonizing over this, I feel it my duty as a proud Schwowin or Danube Swabian, to get this off my chest.
