Ann: Wow! That is so interesting. I had no idea that Germany also had an area referred to as Lothringen. I thought all along that it was a name given exclusively to that north-eastern part of France. I found that out on one of my trips there. Information passed down from the first of my ancestors said they came from Lothringen. The towns they came from are in the Saarland.
