My German is not terribly strong even though it was my first language! I received this sweet and gentle lesson on a word. Ive been messaging about more than one Familienbuch and a long-time friend (we have communicated with one another on DVHH for years now and weve never met) in her inimitable way sent me this sweet message . . . Just want to drop you a quick line with a little correction...I hope you don't mind! The plural of Buch is Bücher. Buchen is the plural of Buche, which is German for beech tree...oh the terrible, confusing German language I was chuckling after reading the message . . . Ive been advising readers of my response to the stream about getting/using Familienbuchen to get beech trees for your research. Imagine how difficult it would be to put them on your work space! So, please return the trees and get some Familienbücher (more than one book) for your research! So, thank you to Rose V. she contributes so much to our group including gentle lessons in German! Dear listers, A long shot request: are there any researchers out there who might have a copy of Norbert Schmitt's Amorbach Familienbuch? My research has taken me to that part of Germany, but I've had no luck getting my hands on a copy of this one. Thanks for listening! Bill Knuttel Napa, CA

I`m Karl Huber from Austria. I started to make my familytree new. For the records in Austria i do well. But I dont have skills for doing out of Austria. I would be gald to be suported by you. I`m looking for the Family of my grandmother Born as Maria Schubkegel in Bela Crkva now Serbia Banat. Her parents Peter Schubkegel & Katharina Maschek. Peter Schubkegel was Born in Kisszemlak/ Semlacu Mic now Romania Banat. I have foun a record of Andreas Schubkegel died as soldier 14.11.1858 in Arad age 21. His place of birth was Zemlak. The Dates of Andreas Schubkegel out of "Dates of Banat Family History Series Volume VI" by David Dreyer 808 N Claremont San Mateo , California 94401. I want to ask you, if you can give me suport in that case of Schubkegel. I think there could be also a connection between Peter and Andreas, because one son of Peter was named Andreas also in 1912. I have been making the same mistake. Thank you for letting the rest of us "German as a second language" people know about the problem. I am snickering at the response too. Hello Mr. Karl Huber, I have copied the pages of Schubkegels in the Evangelische Familienbuch of Semlak. There no Schubkegels in the Reformierte Familienbuch. Please send me your e-mail address to you so that I can send what I have. I do not think there is much hope for you in finding Schubkegels in your family. Also, keep in mind that these are Lutherans and will not be helpful if you are seeking Catholics. When I receive your e-mail address, I will send copies of the pages that have Schubkegels. Warm regards, Rose Mary Keller Hughes -----Original Message----- From: karl.huber@forumartenschutz.at <karl.huber@forumartenschutz.at> Sent: 19 February, 2019 3:13 AM To: Donauschwaben Villages Helping Hands (DVHH) <donauschwaben-villages@rootsweb.com> Subject: [DVHH] Re: Wonderful Helpful People--Truly DVHH Am 19.02.2019 07:02, schrieb Rose Mary Keller Hughes: > My German is not terribly strong even though it was my first language! > I received this sweet and gentle lesson on a word.
