Can anyone tell me if Stader lists any OPERMANNs who arrived in the Banat in 1783 or soon after? I'm trying to trace the origins of Anna OPERMANN, born c1784 in - according to her January 1846 Kathreinfeld death record - "St. Wendel / Namethorn[?]". That might be a misspelling of "Namborn," which is just north of St. Wendel in Saarland, but there's also a possible candidate for Anna born 1783 in Ottweiler, just south of St. Wendel. The Ottweiler Anna was the daughter of Adam OPERMANN and Anna Maria SCHNEIDER, and, perhaps coincidentally, an Adam OPERMANN of "Morvitz" died in Billed (43j) in 1788 - and Billed is also where *my* Anna OPERMANN (c1784-1846) was married. Hope this isn't too confusing.
Hi Ian, I send you copies of the two pages of the Opperman name and you can figure it out.
