First of all, my apologies for not getting back re. the responses I received as a result of my query. I was going through my email spam folder this morning and found several responses that were flagged as spam by a overly aggressive spam filter. The lesson here is to regularly monitor your spam bucket! Thanks to all that have responded, unfortunately this appears to be a tough nut to crack, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that someone out there still may hold the key to this search. In response to Joseph Haag, yes there are connections! Your uncle Anton Weber was my grandfather Mathias Weber's brother. I remember your aunt Leni and uncle Toni quite well. My grandfather (as well as my parents and I) lived in Farchant, Germany until we emigrated to the US. The Anna that you visited in Chicago is my mother. She's 91 and still doing well. Thanks again to all that responded. Franz Herrnreiter 1. Re: Roll Call Kikinda, Hatzfeld, Sankt Nikolaus an der Theis (William Knuttel) 2. Re: List of FamilyBooks (Barb Dannenberg) 3. Re: List of FamilyBooks (Rose Mary Keller Hughes) Just throwing this out there....I will check the St Hubert books for an Anton Weber (there were many Webers there), but also the suggestion of the Quint surname may also relate in that nearby Nakodorf had families with that name. I'll check there also, and respond back later. Frank, There is one Anton Weber in St Hubert that might fit, born in 1922 to Mathias Weber and Elisabeth Krettler. Unless your uncle was born much earlier, this is the only possible fit. He had a sister named Helena, born in 1925. Let me know if that is on the right track or not, and I'll dig more as needed. I have not been able to investigate Nakodorf for the Quint name yet, as I am having some issues with the CDs of the family book, which are possibly corrupt.
