Hi everyone, Happy New Year! My most vexing roadblocks are: Johann POTH b. about 1847 in Racz Szentpeter, died about 1897 in Racz Szentpeter; his wife, Anna KLEITSCH, born 20 Oct 1850 in Kleinjetscha, died about 1898 in Racz Szentpeter; and Adam WIRS/WIRSZ, born 6 Oct 1861 in Racz Szentpeter, died ????. His father is presumed to be Jacob WIRSZ, born 11 Jan 1836 in Lovrin , died 5 Oct 1883 in Racz Szentpeter. Other surnames, listed by village (all centred around Perjamosch): Racz Szentpeter (Gross-SanktPeter) POTH, KLEITSCH (can't determine link with Kleinjetscha), REICH, REMMEL/ROML Kleinjetscha KLEITSCH Lovrin WIRSZ/WIRS Perjamosch SCHUCH; LEHR, WETZLER, MATHES, KREITER/KRAUTER, ZILLICH, ENDRES/ANDRES, LUDWIG, KIEFER, KERSCH/KIRSCH, BALTES, SEEBERGER, DEMUTH, FRANK, RECTOVALD, KELLER, BAUM, KLECKNER/KLOCKENER, JUNGH, Other regions of interest include Danzig area of Poland, Germans from Russia, many areas of Germany, and Sokal, Ukraine. Again, Happy New Year everyone and good luck with the sleuthing! Hello everyone, It's that time of year again - ROLL CALL time! Time to list the surnames and the towns you are researching. The first 2 examples, by surname or by town are the easiest way. The subject line should indicate what is most important to you - in my case, my most important surnames and town. My Grandfather, Isidor Stadler was born in Detta in 1875. His father, Marton Stadler was possibly born in Hatzfeld in 1838. Marton was married (1869) to Rosalia Trautner (b1847, d1864) possibly in Detta. Rosalia was born in Masdort, Toronal. Romania and died in Detta. After Rosalia's death, Marton married Theresia Adams. I have found no children of this marriage. Marton might have had 7 younger siblings, all born in Szeged, Csongrád, Hungary. Marton's parents were possibly Joannes (Johann) Stadler and Theresia Unterholtzer. I am looking for all the "possibly's" and further information on Rosalia Trautner. Also, can someone tell me where Masdort, Toronal, Romania was/is? I cannot find in in any village list. I know that names have changed, for example, Hatzfeld is now Jimbolia. If anyone is interested, I have my Grandmother's Buchmann tree through Detta back to Eppenbrun, Germany with Gebhard Buchmann (born c 1670) and Barbara Einacker (born c 1665). At one time I had Gebhard's father's name but I have lost the document. Thanks to all the helpers on the list. Let me know if I can help with any information on Detta. Martin

Hello Craig! My great great grandmother was Eva Muzer/Muser, born 1887 in Vukovar. Some of her ancestors moved from Apatin to Vukovar, I guess also the line Muzer. I guess too, that my ancestors Adam Moser (Mozer/Muzer/Muser) born around 1794 and his wife Catharina Wolf (Volf) possibly came from Apatin. Any connection between our Musers? This is my biggest brick wall: Katherine ROTH had brothers (father’s name might have been Matthias ROTH) Anthony ROTH b. 8Mar1858 d. 28Feb1932 in Detroit, MI Pal ROTH Katherine ROTH married Adam FOHS(Z) had at least 2 children: * Elizabeth FOHS(Z) b. 9Dec1882 in Nagykikinda m. in 1900 - Josef HIPFEL b. 25Feb1881 in Grabatz, Hungary * Adam FOHS(Z) b. 6 Nov 1889 in Nagykikinda m. Magdalena KNAB (KNAPP) 1Jan1918 in Chicago, IL. Adam Fohsz might have been born in 1851. There is an Adam Fohsz b. 9Nov1851 in Nakodorf. In the Nakodorf FB there are several generations listed going back from Adam Fohsz. However, I have not been able to determine for sure that this Adam Fohsz in Nakodorf married Katherine Roth. Have no idea what happened to Adam Fohsz. Katherine married Anton Krettler (Gretler). I think they had five children: Anna Krettler b. 31Oct1892 Borchara d. 2Aug1983 Franz Krettler b. 31Dec1900 Yugoslavia d. 1Jun1967 Johann Krettler b abt. 1902 Yugoslavia d. 1982 Joseph Krettler Paul Krettler The son Adam Fohsz was my grandfather who married my grandmother Magdalena Knab. Appreciate if anyone has information that could verify that the Adam Fohsz in Nakodorf was the Adam Fohsz who married Katherine Roth and what happened to both of them. Have no idea what happened to Katherine Roth Fohsz Krettler or her first husband Adam Fohsz. They were living in Nagykikinda and Katherine was still there right before WWI. Thanks, Maria Moore

Hi..... I read your email and it reminded me of what I heard about the evangelical churchbooks for the northern Romania region for the Siebenburgen/Transylvania Saxon records. But, I know that some of these books still exist from that region at an archive in Germany...... Perhaps the evangelical records for Yugoslavia also ended up there??? I found this contact information online: Verband der Siebenbürger Sachsen in Deutschland e.V. ^<https://www.siebenbuerger.de/#> Karlstraße 100 · 80335 München · Telefon: 089/236609-0 Fax: 089/236609-15 · E-Mail<https://www.siebenbuerger.de/zeitung/kontakt/kontakt.php#formular> https://www.siebenbuerger.de/ Siebenbuerger.de - Siebenbürgische Zeitung - Siebenbürger ...<https://www.siebenbuerger.de/> www.siebenbuerger.de Siebenbürgen und Rumänien, Information, Kommunikation, Marktplatz, Siebenbürgische Zeitung Online. I googled a lot but could find no information, if these books still exist and if, where they could be. I also tried to contact diverse reformed church communities from the area with no success. This makes this part of my family tree to a very dead end. I can only suggest a few directions of this (my only protestant) line with the help of DNA matches. Hi Hans, As far as I know, for the Lutheran villages in the Batschka, there were no surviving records. Some fleeing families possibly carried some records with them. The only records I've found in Family History Library here in Salt Lake City (the Mormons) have been for some Catholic churches. Other than that I've only found the various Ortsipinbücher for Lutheran villages in the Batschka and various books and articles about Auswanderer from the various Germanic States. There has been much written about the German Colonists that emigrated from Hungary from the Batschka and Banat to South Russia. Somehow my families are not among those mentioned. Many came from Torschau and Werbass/ NeuWerbass Kind regards, Kelly ________________________________ From: DONAUSCHWABEN-VILLAGES <[email protected]> on behalf of Hans Kopp via DONAUSCHWABEN-VILLAGES <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, January 11, 2018 12:09 AM To: Daniela hieslmayr; [email protected] Subject: Re: [DVHH] Roll Call 2018 Hi It is very unfortunately that so many records were lost. When we were marched off to death camps the Catholic Diocese went to the Catholic Churches and saved the record. Which where also microfilmed by the Mormons. Did the Lutheran and Reformed Churches did the same? If so your best source would be the Mormons.
