    1. Re: [DVHH] Schowe: Looking for ancestors of Ludwig Hetzel
    2. Darlene, thanks very much for your research. I had already collected and screened the information on the Schowe website. I particularly looked at the last residents in 1944. I suspect that Rena's grandfather on her father's side was "Hetzel, Ludwig, 1878, ev., † im Lager Jarek; Wolf-Gasse (Schiller-Gasse) 27"; his data would seem to match her father's (Hetzel, Ludwig, 26. 6. 1922; 14 -- Seil-Gasse). As an additional indication, her brother was also named Ludwig... Seems to be a collection of Ludwigs there! But I am just not certain. Peter Hetzel, born 1760 - Rappoltsweiler, Alsace-Lorraine (perhaps someone in the group recognizes this town???) From the DVHH website: http://www.dvhh.org/schowe/resources/settlers.html I found the following info --- 53. Hetzel, Adam, Evangelical Lutheran., his wife was Elizabeth Taglieber. He died at age 50 in 1836. 54. Hetzel, George, Evangelical Lutheran., married in 1811 the daughter of Michael Haller, Magdalena Haller he died at age 55 in 1848 55. Hetzel, Peter, Evangelical Lutheran., married in 1813 Eva Morgenstern, daughter of Sebastian Morgenstern. - These three (53,54, 55) were brother and sons of the deceased Peter Hetzel who died at age 73 in 1833 I believe that these 2 Peter Hetzels are the same - the one born in 1760 in my notes - and the one here who died in 1833, aged 73 (so born abt 1760). ====================================================================== Some info on the Febel side: Jakob Hetzel, born Jan 10, 1920 - married to - Katharina Febel, born Nov 28, 1923 Peter Febel, born Mar 20, 1902 - lived in Batschka - ancestors from the Pfalz George Febel - born 1856 This doesn't match with the Febel info on the same DVHH page listed above, but it does show that FEBELs were in Schowe. 19. Febel, Wilhelm, Reformed Lutheran, Son of Christian Febel from Tscherwenka. In 1844 he married Maria Pataky, daughter of Stephan Pataky. --------------------------------------------------------- Neu Schowe - "Ravnoselo" - even plains Heinrichsbrun, Bavaria (not sure why I have this written down) Antonia Harden (Bohemia)- this was another ancestor, not sure if from the Febel side or the Hetzel side. ============================================================== More info when I find the rest of my notes. Dave - here is another thought.  May cost you a few $.  Vesna Ibrahimovic used to be on the DVHH List.  Not sure what happened but she told me awhile back she is no longer on.  Her e-mail is:  mountain_riverside@yahoo.com  Feel free to use my name if you write to her. She has access to the Sombor Archives and did some research for me a couple years ago & should have access to the early Confirmation records. She has a daughter that lives in New York so I was able to send my fee to her in U.S. dollars.   Judy On Sunday, July 13, 2014 10:07 AM, "donauschwaben-villages@rootsweb.com" <donauschwaben-villages@rootsweb.com> wrote: Bill, Thanks. That Magdalena born in Kolut died young. A daughter born in April 1846 in Katymar was again named Magdalena. It looks like the Kolut church books at the LDS won't help because I need records before 1826, which are at the archives. --Dave Velten From: Bill Herman [mailto:billherm4361@yahoo.com] Sent: Saturday, July 12, 2014 11:49 PM To: David Velten; donauschwaben-villages@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [DVHH] FALLER and THESS from Kolut Dave The OSB for Kolut has Magdalena born  02.08.1835 in Kolut and she died 18.07.1837 in Kolut. Before I bought the OSB for Kolut I checked the church records for the Catholic Church in Kolut at my local LDS research center. I think the church records go from 1826 to 1895. To Katharina Faller born about 1810, no parents listed. This is the only information listed on Katharina. They had 7 children. The Kolut church marriage record does not list parents of either spouse. I bought Jakob Schuy's new Kolut book, which covers the earlier period 1760-1825. This period does not cover the marriage in 1827 but I hoped it might have Katharina's birth and family. Lots of Faller families but nothing matching Katharina's info. The Katymar book by Joseph Pahl has the Martin Thess family but no information on Katharina's parents. I assume the other Kolut book covering 1826 on does not have information on her family or Joseph Pahl would have used that info in his book. Anyone have knowledge of this family or suggestions on how to find Katharina Faller's family? 3. Hi! I am wondering if anyone has the Wiseschdia family book and would be interested in selling it? I contacted the people who had it, but they lost all the extras in a flood. Robert Evensen has been very helpful, but I need a lot of info from this book. Thanks, Barb D.
