    3. Hi all, I'm just trying to get some basic info on my mother's parents family.  Here's what I know (or think I know) so far: Rosina Kelsch b. 1909 Triebwetter; d 1982 Cook County, Il Her parents Johann Kelch b. ? Treibwetter d. ?, Anna Wiewe b. ? Triebwetter d. ?;  believe there was a sister Karolina Kelsch b. 1912 Triebwetter d.?; believe she married a Jacob Hemmert from Triebwetter Rosina married my grandfather John Angele in Triebswetter, but he was born in Pennsylvania but went back to Triebwetter as a child so I'm told.  His family was mostly from Kowatchi which I have a lot of info on now thanks to some help from Linda on this site. Thanks for any help you can provide! Steve [email protected]

    3. Thanks everyone for the ideas, I am wondering which clubs have "blocked" rooms for this particular event. Usually I can get them off the clubs website, but they are updating it right now. Darlene, do you plan to attend? Anyone else? 3. From personal experience/family experiences, here's a few comments: - Holiday Inn & Best Western in the Fairview Rd/King , St/Weber St vicinity, south of the Schwaben Club - have stayed at these a few times over the years, but not recently, both were good - Kitchener Inn - used to be a Hilton Garden Inn, one of my favourite chains, but changed over about a year ago, have not stayed there since, although at the time, the staff told me that the same management company was running it, just different computers and software - Knights Inn, Sherwood Motel -- read the TripAdvisor reviews, wouldn't stay here - Best Western on Weber St, northwest of the Schwaben Club, the rooms were nice, a little small but ok, a diner-type restaurant on-site, the outside is old-looking and the parking lot is uneven, so access to those drive-up patio doors was a little strange - I have mobility issues, so this was a little difficult, but I would stay here again - Howard Johnson, Kitchener Conestoga - read the TripAdvisor reviews, 4 family members stayed here and would not do so again - lots of the name brand hotels, like Delta, Radisson, Courtyard by Marriott, Homewood Suites, etc - also some local gems like the Walper Terrace if you're into heritage type properties St. Jacob's is a major tourist attraction, just north of Kitchener, along with Elmira if you like farmer's markets, Mennonite businesses and sites. Staying south of the Hwy 7/8 interchanage keeps you fairly close to Hwy 401 for leaving. There are lots of cute, little towns in the area that have bed & Breakfasts; also Stratford, world-renewed for the Stratford Festival, incuding Shakespeare and other plays/performances, just about 45 minutes west of Kitchener. Hotels/motels/B&Bs are pricey here. Depends how long you want to stay in the area and what you want to do. Toronto is about an hour east on the 401 if you want the big city and Niagara Falls is about an hour and a half south. So no shortage of other places to spend time before and after. Niagara Falls is pricey too, especially on holiday weekends. I'm pretty sure the Schwaben Club will have deals with some of the local accomodation choices. 3. The Schwaben Club is on King St. E., halfway between Fairview Park Mall and downtown Kitchener. There are several options for downtown Kitchener, so if you find something there, you should be fine. 3. Yes it is. Bohemia is part of the Czech Republic. Fran's grandfather came from there. He married her grandmother (the brick wall) in the USA. Her birth place is according to the ship manifest in Slavonia, Croatia (not Slovenia), although she seemed to part of an Ethnic Czech Community in Croatia. Most likely her ancestors settled from Bohemia or Moravia (instead of Germany as the most Danube Svabians) to Slavonia I guess the correct place is: Končanica. Otherwise you won't be able to find out, from where her family came to Croatia. To your grandfather, very interesting I have also ancestral family in this place: Suchdol nad Lužnicí <https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suchdol_nad_Lu%C5%BEnic%C3%AD> Your grandfather comes from the same place. 3. Most of the genealogy software can not this.
