    3. Just because someone from somewhere doesn’t mean that’s what they are. I don’t know how to explain it but maybe someone out there can. All these people migrated from somewhere else. 3. Thank you, Anne! That is good information to know. So far I've found no records for a Lutheran, Peter Schneider in the Jöhlingen area. I found an entry in Wilhelm und Kallbrunner book for a Peter Schneider from Jöhlingen emigrating in 1807 to the Crimea! ??? (A lot of Catholic villages there) I think Dr. Karl Stumpp may have confused two Peter Schneiders, but what do I know? There is a lot of good information in his book, but there are also a few errors. It’s hard to read, but it looks as though the village name was “Morizfeld” (Moritzfeld). Village names are crossed out for anyone else on this census page who had them listed, including Katy for Frank, so I think it’s possible that the enumerator wrote just more than was wanted — not that the village was wrong. Her parents’ birthplaces are listed as Hungary. > > 1930: year of arrival given as 1905, her birthplace given as Romania, parents’ birthplaces given as Yugoslavia. > > 1940: her birthplace given as Hungary (the other items are no longer listed). > > On Caroline’s death certificate from St Louis, her birthplace is given as Hungary, and her father’s name as Joseph Zircher. > > Moritzfeld, Temes, Hungary is now Moriţfeld or Maureni, Caraş-Severin, Romania. It’s one of the Romanian villages whose KBs are available through Ancestry.com rather than FamilySearch, and the records seem to be only partially transcribed. (There are also a suspicious number of Fircher/Fercher/Ferker names, so I suspect a problem with reading the old handwriting.) However, I was able to find a birth record for Josepha Carolina Maria Zircher, legitimate daughter of Josephus Zircher and Victoria Henri (sp?), born 1 November 1882 and baptized on 5 November. There is some more information on the birth record but honestly I’m having real trouble trying to read it. > > I can email you the birth record; let me know if you need the census records, etc. too. 3. Thanks Karen, but unfortunately the Poths in my tree moved from Perjamosch at some point to Gross St-Peter, and the records are different. The only FB for Gross St-Peter ends in 1852, and my gr.grandfather Michael Poth was born in 1881. It's so frustrating because the villages are only 1km apart physically, but the parishes were separate and the Perjamosch FB only covers Haulik (which has now been swallowed up by Perjamosch). If you have a family tree on ancestry, it would be pretty cool to compare notes though! I'm sure we have branches in common. Are you in the US or Canada? My line of Poths came from Gross St-Peter to a small farming village in Saskatchewan, Canada in 1911. 3. Hi Thomas, I found Bozenfa on the map. It is between two areas that my families lived, Barcs, Somogy & Gadacs, Somogy. I did some looking around on Ancestry and there seem to be a lot of GUTs in that area. I haven't had a chance to look more closely at it. I checked my database and found the following names for Bozenfa. Have no real recollection of researching these, but think it had to do with either OESTERREICHERs or BIERERs. Fechter, Catharina Fiernstein, Barbara Hasenfratz, Maria Anna Hoffman, Gyorgy Hoffman, Jakob Kaspar, Magdalena Kichler, Casparus Kichler, Ignatius Kichler, Josephus Kichler, Matthias Purgreth, Elisabetha Rozman, Elizabetha Rozman, Franciscus Rozman, Jacobus -- Darlene http://www.dvhh.org/membership/associates.htm#D On 19-Jan-2019 9:21 PM, Thomas Myers wrote: > Darlene, > > I have Gut family from Bozenfa, Somogy, just west of Tolna. > > Tom > > On Sat, Jan 19, 2019, 17:56 Darlene Dimitrie <dvhhemail.darlene@gmail.com > wrote: > >> BARCS, Somogy, Hungary - Bierer, Schvartzl, Roller, Besler, Ritzl >> >> HRASTOVAC, Pozsega, Hungary (now CROATIA) - Bierer, Drechsler, Abel >> >> DOROCSKE, KOTTSCE, ECSENY, GADACS, BONNYA (Somogy County) - Reidl, Schmidt, >> Henk, Bohn, Reichert, Stark >> >> BIKAL and surrounding towns (Baranya County) - Drechsler, Kilgus/Kuhlgusz, >> Braun, Gut, Friedrich >> >> Looking for anyone researching these surnames in these locations. >> **** BRICK WALL on the BIERER family in particular - where were they before >> 1800'ish **** >> **** BRICK WALL on the BRAUN/GUT families - Felsonana, Tolna **** >> >> ----------------------------------------------- >> Darlene >> >> _______________________________________________ >> Email preferences: http://bit.ly/rootswebpref >> Unsubscribe >> https://lists.rootsweb.com/postorius/lists/donauschwaben-villages@rootsweb.com >> Privacy Statement: https://ancstry.me/2JWBOdY Terms and Conditions: >> https://ancstry.me/2HDBym9 >> Rootsweb Blog: http://rootsweb.blog >> RootsWeb is funded and supported by Ancestry.com and our loyal RootsWeb >> community >> > > _______________________________________________ > Email preferences: http://bit.ly/rootswebpref > Unsubscribe https://lists.rootsweb.com/postorius/lists/donauschwaben-villages@rootsweb.com > Privacy Statement: https://ancstry.me/2JWBOdY Terms and Conditions: https://ancstry.me/2HDBym9 > Rootsweb Blog: http://rootsweb.blog > RootsWeb is funded and supported by Ancestry.com and our loyal RootsWeb community >

    1. [DVHH] Roll Call: Tolna - Martin, Mueller, Feuerstein, Fuchsberger, Mertz
    2. Joseph Martin
    3. Cannot help but wonder if anyone might be researching in the town of Mucsi, Tolna. Over many years I have found very few searching their families. Would enjoy hearing from anyone with these family connections. Joseph Martin Romeoville, Illinois -- *________________* "Where there's a will, there's a wage!" (from "The Durrells in Corfu" on PBS) . 3. My great - grandfather, Peter Jakoby married to Magdalena Pfeifer( both born around 1865). their son was my grandfather Michael Jakoby born in 1887.married to Elizabeth Tietchen born 1889. All resided in Bruckenau. I have a gap between my great-grandfather and colonists listed in the guest ledger of 1784 to 1787. There are 8 Michael Jakoby listed with various spellings of the last name, Jakob, Jackob, Jak. Can anyone help connect the dots?
