He and his Unnamed wife had 4 children: 1. John (b. Perthshire SCT between 1796 and 1800) died in Washington Co. PA 1880. He married Mary Ann STEPHENS (1818-1872) 2. James (b Perthshire 1810) Lived in Washington Co, PA but disappeared in 1863, while in Arkansas, attempting to secure the release of his underaged son from a Confederate POW camp. He was married to Eliza CROW (1813-1847). 3. Catherine (?-?) Lived in or near London,Middlesex Co., Ontairo Canada. Married Hugh STEVENSON. (Hugh is listed in the 1871 Ontario Census). 4. Jane (?-?) Also lived in London, Ontario. Married William SHUTTS The family story, although I've seen no hard evidence of it, is that The elder Donaldson moved from Scotland to Canada (Quebec) in the early 1820's, where he died. After about 2 years in Canada, the two sons moved on to SW PA around 1826, where they settled on farms in Washington Co., PA. The two daughters remained in Canada where they married.
