My 'name' for research is, at least since the early 1800s, spelled DONELSON, but it's been spelled and mis-spelled so many ways, thought I might catch an odd relation on this list. My earliest DONELSONs, John & Elizabeth migrated from Germany to the Philadelphia area sometime in the early 1800s, then moved to the southern New Jersey Township of Lower Alloways Creek in the mid-1800s. Their son, Henry DONELSON, served in the Civil War. He married Harriet Roork of Stow Creek Township and they bore a number of children, one of whom, Linwood, is my g2x-grandfather. Linwood married Kate Solley and they had several children -- 2 of whom are my grand-mothers. I have dates and places for the most part of those I have mentioned. If anyone has anything on John & Elizabeth, the German emmigrants, I'd love to trade info. I am, of course, willing to share whatever I have on later generations too.
