I am still looking for the family of John Donaldson who was born in England (where, I do not know) in 1745 according to his Rev. War papers, and lived in the Old Cheraws District of SC. His wife was Sarah, maiden name unknown at this time, and his children were William, John and Peter, all named in their fathers Will of 1781, recorded in Richmond Co.,NC which is where they were living when John Donaldson died. His wife, Sarah, married again to a Daniel Hicks who lived in that area. He was also in the war and served with Sarah Donaldsons' husband, John. Their son John stayed in the area, but she and the other two sons vanish from the records. Peter is not a very common name, and thought he might show up somewhere , but so far I have not seen his name anywhere. Nor have I seen William Donaldson's name in the records. They may have moved to another state. So many did with new land opening up everywhere. Would be glad to hear from anyone with any information. Joanne, N.C.
