    3. A second cousin of mine (Janet) saw your 1999 message on the Bengtson Message Board with familyhistory.com and asked me to respond. Her father's (Leonard Hedstrom) mother was Sadie Bengtson and my mother's (Eva Nelson) mother was Johanna Bengtson. They had the following siblings: John (born 1866), Beda (born 1869), Anna Matilda (born 1876), Algodt (born 1878), (then Sadie--1881--and Johanna--1884), and Edwin (born 1886). Their parents were Andris Bengtsson (born 1836) and Johanna Andersson (born 1843) (her parents were Andreas Andersson--1811--and Maria C. Bengtsdotter--1835). Beda married Anton Sandquist and lived in Minnesota and then in Minot, North Dakota. They had children. Annie married Emil H. Peterson and lived in the Lake Lillian, Minnesota, area. They had four children. Sadie married Elmer Hedstrom and lived in Minot, North Dakota. Their son Leonard is the father to my second cousin who saw your message. There were children in addition to Leonard. Leonard moved to Lake Lillian, Minnesota, and then Willmar, Minnesota. Johanna (my maternal grandmother) married J. (John) Albert Nelson. They lived in Lake Lillian, Minnesota. They had five children; one is my mother. Her two brothers have recently died. She has two sisters living. John died single in his 50s or so from cancer. He was engaged to be married at the time. Edwin died single at about the age of 23 from a ruptured appendix. That leaves Algodt to carry on the Bengtson name: He married Annie Flann. Their children were as follows: Carrol (a son) Violet Kay Evelyn Aldine Beatrice Lyle Aldine Bengtson married Velora Bomstad. Their children were as follows: Robert Bengtson, died in the 1960s at about age 16 in a car accident. Nancy, died a year after Robert at about age 16 in a car accident.     3. Please all you Donaldson's in America and Canada help us find what happened to Grandfathers brother. WILLIAM P.R.N.DONALDSON. He was born in Dunfermline Fife Scotland 23 March 1888 parents George Donaldson 1848-1888 and Margaret Nicol 1854-1922 He and his brother George went to America ,George went back to Scotland and then to Australia but William stayed . His full name was probably WILLIAM PETER RAMSAY NICOL DONALDSON. We don`t know where he settled or if he had a family. He had a step sister Helen(Nellie )Donaldson who married George Robertson and went to Canada so William may have gone to see her.Their daughter Helen Robertson married a Mr.Smith.     3. Surely those of us who are searching these early Donaldsons can connect in this area. Patrick Donaldson who m. Lucy Petit 1765 in York Co. Pa.,migrated to Berkley/Frederick area in Va.,then to Ky. late 1770s with the Strodes,was killed 1881 Strode's Station. There was a John Donaldson there early also,for a time, who was not Patrick's son John as the son was 12 y/o at the time of his father's death.Was he brother of Patrick? Patrick and Lucy had a daughter Sarah who married Robert Donaldson in Clark Co. 1797. It appears this same Robert married 2).Nancy Angle in 1816. His wife at the time of his death in Mo. 1823 was named Nancy. Who was father of Robert? There is a Robert Sr. and Jr/ in early Clark Co. records.     3. Looking for information on Donaldson's who are connected to Laura Donaldson (m. Fred Burrington in 1891, Johnson Co.). and her Mother Elizabeth, but don't know Elizabeth's maiden name or her husband's first name. Laura's brother's were Les and Marion. Probably other siblings. Elizabeth's brother-in-law John was my great grandfather, who put 4 of his children up for adoption after my great grandmother died when my grandmother was 10. He left for parts unknown with his oldest son whose name was either John or Will. Grandmother remembered him as John.
