    1. [DONALDSON-L] Donaldson in New York City 1832
    2. Joanne Harley
    3. I have a James Donaldson who bought land in Marlboro Co.,SC from William Pledger ca. 1832, and he was listed in the records as being 'of New York City'. There were Donaldson family members around that area of South Carolina from an early time (John, Sr. (father) , William, Peter, JOhn ,Jr. ca. 1763) and wondered if any of them went to New York to live (1781, after the death of JOhn, Sr.) raised families there, and later one of them decided to return to the area. Is anyone on this list researching Donaldsons in New York? Joanne H. harleyclan@coastalnet.com

I saw the book about a year ago and I remember the James and Janet Wilson Donaldson names but frankly don't remember any pertinent details. I've been told by others that copies of the book may be available at local historical libraries so you might try that. Good luck!
