Daniel Doherty appears in the 1850 Boston MA census as follows: Daniel Doherty, Age 40, Laborer, b Ireland Charlotte "", age 46, b Ireland George "", age 14, b Mass Mary "", age 13, b Mass Elizabeth "", age 9, b Mass Barney "", age 6, b Mass Rebecca "", age 2, b Mass living nearby (on the same census page) is: Patrick McDermot, age 30, laborer, b Ireland Margaret "", age 28, b N.S. Mary J "", age 4, b Mass Joseph "", age 1, b Mass In 1860, Patrick seems to be living with the Dohertys and married to Mary: Daniel Doherty, age 56 Charlotte, age 55 Patrick McDermot, age 29 Mary "", age 22 Mary "", age 3 Hugh "", age 7/12 Barney Doherty, age 17 I am fairly certain that the 1860 Patrick and Mary McDermot are my gggrandparents but not 100% sure if the 1850 and 1860 Patricks are the same OR if Mary McDermot is the Doherty's daighter. I would appreicate any information Thanks, Scott
In my family history I have a John Mcdermott son of hugh, who married Catherine Mcgivern, daughter of PatrickThey had 5 children : patrick was born 1849 died in 1850, Hugh, Jmes, Mary and Joseph Hugh had 11 children. Their 4th child mary Ann mcDermott married George Weisensee They were my great grandparents Mary Ann Weisensee married Edward Doherty. We are probably not related by the Doherty's but the McDermots you mentioned have similiar childrens names and dates. --------------------------------- Do You Yahoo!?
