Anent (sic) the death of Hugh Doherty, who died Christmas morning at Duluth, his home for the past 22 years, of which mention was made last week, we learn that he died of Bright's disease. He was a native of Ireland, born in the county of Tyrone on June 21, 1843, and with his parents came to America when 2 years old. He lived in this county until his removal to Duluth, and was married here to Hannah Maher, who with six children survives him. The children are Frank, Mrs. A. M. Hegland, James, Hugh and Alice of Duluth and Mrs. Frank Farrington of Fergus Falls. Mrs. P. Cantwell of this city was his sister and Frank Doherty of St. Thomas and Patrick Doherty of Hibbing, his surviving brothers. Mr. Doherty was a devout Catholic and his life was spent in serving God honestly and sincerely. When called he was fully prepared to answer and bid farewell to earth with hopes of a life lived here fitted for happiness beyond the grave.
