Silas Emmett Lucas, Jr.'s 2-volume set THE DODSON (DOTSON) FAMILY OF NORTH FARNHAM PARISH OF NORTH FARNHAM PARISH, RICHMOND COUNTY, VIRGINIA: A History and Genealogy of Their Descendants, 1988 & 1989: <italic>" WINIFRED DODSON LAWSON (William-63, Thos-17, Thos-3, Charles-1). Winnifred was born about 1770 in VA [per 1850 census, Stokes Co., NC] and died in Stokes Co. between 1850 and 1860. She was one of the older children of William and Winifred Johnston Dodson, and was named in the will(*) of her grandfather, Jeffrey Johnston. She married David Lawson on 3 Oct 1794 in Halifax Co., VA. David was born between 1765 and 1770 in Virginia and died between 1830 and 1840, probably in Stokes Co.
