I wonder if there is anyone who is aware of the many DODSONS that lived and continue to live in the Madison County, VA area. It is as almost as though this branch of the family has been left "unexplored" by the many Dodson researchers. In the vicinity of Syria VA there is a large geographical area of VA that was, and is currently, inhabited by Dodsons, Sisk, Smiths & Weakleys all of which intermarried as was pointed out by Judy Campbell's recent Obit. report from the area. Several of these families were forced to leave their homes and farms and relocate when the Skyline National Park was established. The foundations and some of the logs from their homes along with cemeteries still exist inside the park. I would appreciate any information any one may have concerning the park residents, these Dodsons and or the Sisks. I now believe that MILLER DODSON, born 1797 and his Son Andrew Champ, born 1835 came from this area and Andrew's son, Bell Field Dodson, born Feb 1864 may have been forced to leave the National Park which may have prompted his relocation to WV.
