Dave, I show Elisha Dodson served as an Ensign in the Revolutionary war in Captain Richard Gwynn's Company. This information came from the Texas Society DAR Roster of Revolutionary Ancestors, Vol. II, p. 626. "The Charles Dodson Family of Richmond Co., VA", by Emma Isabella Sloan stated he was commissioned Ensign of Capt. Richard Gwynn's Company of the County militia on 28 Jan 1779. I am a direct descendant of Elisha Dodson and Sarah Everett (or Averitt), through their second child, Margaret "Peggy" Dodson. I would be glad to share information on any of the Dodson line. Thanks, Scott Webb
