I have spent considerable time last year reading this book at the DAR library--it is great, if you are looking for a Dodson (or Dotson!) who lived in America. The lady who wrote this book compiled an enormous amount of genealogical information...but, as I recall, it didn't cover the UK roots at all--mostly, it says, since the family can't be reliably traced before Charles Dotson, who as I recall, the author says is the person believed to be the immigrant ancestor. The book also covers several other lines of Dodsons (who don't descend from Charles). These (as I recall) were smaller lineages--or at least not covered in as much detail. I don't remember if these may have had information about their UK forebearers. I expect to go to the DAR library next month when I get back from vacation. If anyone wants a lookup in this book, I'll do it for photocopying expenses. Mary Dotson
