I've been catching up with all of these recent postings. My one line (Jemima>Jacob>Peter>John>Charles, SR) has been spelled as Dodson, Dotson and Dottson in census records and in books of compiled records. However, when viewing the documents at the Shenandoah Co. courthouse I only find their signature as Dodson. Appears they never changed the spelling themselves. The Dodson page is descendants of Charles Dodson, Sr. of North Farnham Parish.
