    3. I have PART of the DODSON book online along with my direct line. I no longer know which branches of DODSON/DOTSON lines are on my web site but for those of you who are interested and would like to see my DODSON web page the address is: http://pages.prodigy.net/wchs "Shenandoah Ancestry" Scroll to bottom of page and click for "DODSON Ancestry" or DODSON News" This file is now over 30 pages long so you may want to SAVE and read offline. There are two web sites that I've found that list Jamestown settlers. There is NO DODSON listed. Somewhere in the book on "DODSON/DOTSON of North Farnham Parish" is information on the "Jamestown Jesse DODSON" that we have often heard about. A woman in FL (I think) is given credit for that story. The woman was apparently good at making up great stories to sell family histories to others. She was arrested for fraud. When I find the page again in the book I will post it here along with a word for word quote. On my web page for DODSON, I have them all listed as DODSON even if they were using the DOTSON spelling. This is because Brothers Keeper will not show them as members of the family they are from if the spelling is changed. There were quite a few DOTSON families but I've found my own line spelled as DOTSON/DOTTSON/DODSON. Depended on how the census taker chose to spell the name.
