    3. Sandra, Since I started this discussion with you, I better finish this. I'm also sending this to the Dodson List in case someone else is interested. Your Eli Dodson (b. 1798 in VA) is listed in the 2-vol. Dodson book on p. 211. It gives a reference to A REMINISCENT HISTORY OF THE OZARK REGION where he is mentioned. I live in Springfield, MO, which is called the "Queen City of the Ozarks" and have seen the above book in our local library if you'd like me to copy some pages from it regarding your ancestor. More is given on Eli and his wife, Mary "Polly" Goad on p. 212. It says that Eli was the father of one child, Eli Jr., and Eli Jr. was the father of 21 children! More on Eli Jr.'s children is given on p. 1023 & 1024. That is as far down as that family is taken in the book. Of course all the earlier generations give much interesting information in the book and are listed. I'll also mention that the local library here has a book on the Goad Family which might list some of your family if I can ever get around to checking it. In fact, in my line of Dodson/Hanks descendants there was a Rev. Thomas Hanks who settled in Christian County, Missouri (very near here) whose wife was a Nancy Mary Goad of Maury Co., TN. Other Goads also intermarrried with the Dodsons. I am not a Goad descendant, but I'd be glad to check in the Goad book for any info. Sincerely, Glenn Gohr ggohr01@mail.orion.org
