There is no rush on this Glenn, it's just something interesting I happened to see and be curious about. I have a list of the signers of the Oath of Allegiance and there are two Thomas Dodsons on it. Somewhere in my travels I also obtained a copy of a 1790 or so map of Pittsylvania County which has Birch Creek on it (along with Turkey Cocke Creek which rings a bell in my mind but I can't remember why!). Birch Creek is in the southeastern corner of the county, and therefore very close to Halifax County. For that reason, riding the creek into the River Dan? (I don't have the map in front of me and it's time to make breakfasts and lunches), would take you right to Halifax. Henry County and Hill? probably not, but you never know! Michelle
