---------- James Harmon <jharmon@earthlink.net> There isn't much in the book on Rhoda Dodson Creel and what information is in the book is not known for sure so here's a quote from "The Dodson (Dotson) Family of North Farnham Parish, Richmond County, VA, Vol I" "Rhoda Dodson Creel (Thos, Thos, Chas). The places and dates of Rhoda's birth, marriage and death are unknown. She was PROBABLY born and married in Fauquier Co., VA. She and her husband both joined Broad Run Baptist Church in Dec 1762. They moved to the Halifax/Pittsylvania Co. area with her father, Thomas Dodson. It is said that John Creel was killed in an accident in 1792. " The children of Rhoda and John Creel were: Thomas Creel - married #83 Phebe Creel, daughter of #22 Joshua Dodson. John Creel - married #212 Margaret Dodson, daughter of #68 Lazarus Dodson. Micajah Creel William Creel Elijah Creel - m. Nancy Ragland Molly Creel -one of these married a Shelton Alice Creel - and the other one a Petty <I'm taking all of this from the book, not adding that note on Molly and Alice myself> #83 Phebe Dodson Creel (Joshua, Thos, Chas) Phebe was born before 24 April 1763 when she was one of the "infants taken into the care of" Broad Run Baptist Church, Fauquier Co., VA. She married Thomas Creel in either VA or Surry Co., NC prior to 1786 (when Thomas "Kreel" is referred to as son-in-law of Joshua Dodson on a road jury.) Thomas was the son of John and Rhoda Dodson Creel. He was born in VA and died in 1805 according to family information (though this is questionable as it is said he was present at the marriage of his daughter in 1807, Warren Co., KY). Phebe died in 1826, probably in Allen Co., KY. Phebe and Thomas Creel lived in Surry Co., NC, Pendleton District, SC, Oglethorpe and/or Clarke Co., GA and in Warren/Allen Co., KY. Children, as given in The Stamps Family History and Lineage, by Wm T Stamps: Nancy Creel (Dodson) - b. 24 July 1785., m. Armstead Dodson on 25 Sept 1804 in Warren Co., KY. d. 7 Aug 1840, GA John Creel <more info on book on this one> Elizabeth Creel (Stamps) <more info in book> Joshua Creel - b. 1792, NC., d. 20 Sept 1838 in Bibb co. AL (married #262 Ruth Dodson) Elijah Creel - b. 1795 in GA , d. Williamson Co TN. married Temperance Soberness Wilburn in 1831 in Cumberland Co KY Lorna Creel - born c1800 in GA. Never married. William Creel - b. c1802 in GA Phebe Creel - b. c1804 in GA, d. 4 July 1869 in Bibb Co. AL. Married Eli Hughes in July 1886? (this is the date given in the Stamps book which is obviously an error) Joel Creel - b. c1805 in GA. Married in 1850, Elizabeth unknown. Whew! No wonder you're confused as to who married whom.
