He married HANNAH SAYRE 1820 in Tyler Co, WV, daughter of BENJAMIN SAYRE and NANCY TUCKER. Children of EMANUEL DOTSON and HANNAH SAYRE are: i. HIRAM SAYRE4 DOTSON, b. September 21, 1823, Wood Co, WV; d. September 25, 1899, Ritchie Co, Tollgate, WV; m. (1) SUSAN MARKWELL, November 02, 1843, Ritchie Co, VA; m. (2) MALVINA "MALLIE" POOLE, August 23, 1864. ii. JOHN WESLEY DOTSON, b. 1829; m. AMY BULL POOLE. Notes for JOHN WESLEY DOTSON: Was in Civil War attached to the 6th WV Infantry Vol. as a private. Moved to California sometime between 1861 & 1870 & lived in Santa Cruz, Soquel Twp. Went to Minnesota then California iii. GRANVILLE DOTSON, b. 1827; m.
