    3. Hi Cousins, I once saw a book on the NC Dotson's (Dodson's). It was in the Newberry Library in Chicago, IL. I think the name was Dotson, but I'm not real sure since it was about 15 years ago when I saw it. I went back at a later time to look at it again and I could not find it. There you have to make an appointment to use their facilities and I did not want to spend all day looking for one book. I'm not close to Chicago anymore, but for any of you who are, it might be a good thing to look into. I cannot remember the exact name of the book or the author, but it was about Dotson/Dodson's who owned a plantation and had slaves. It might be a place to start for some of you. I don't know if this book, if you can find it, could be borrowed by your local library. Does anyone know of the book I am remembering? I myself go back to Simon, through Artie and her son Lewis Mitchell. I guess you could say we are not really Dotson's till you get back to Simon, but we are a big family and proud to call ourselves Dotson's anyway. Ethel Dotson Weydert
