This is the first time I have posted since I am new to this list. I am having a problem finding anything about my ggggrandfather. This is what little I know. My gggrandmother's maiden name was DODSON, Elizabeth Jane (Bettie) b Jan 10, 1867. in Arkansas. I presume Craighead Co. Her mother, Becky BISHOP married 3 times. First to a Yarbrough, they had 2 boys, then Dad went to Civil war and was killed, she then married DODSON, had my ggm, then he died and she married a Carrouthers. I have found a John DODSON on the mortality index that died in Craighead Co in 1870, so the time frame works out there. He was 40 years old. On my ggm's death certificate, it states that her father was born in Ala but on the mortality index, it says Ga. Soooooooo, does anyone know anything about this DODSON?
