Dear Mickey, Thanks so much for your willingness to supply information about Eli Dodson. It did help. It allowed me to narrow the possibilities. I had earlier assumed that my Eli might be the son of William and the brother of Simon and "Buckey," but I did not know for sure. I learned from your account of dates, names and logistics that this Eli could not possibly be my Eli. He never made it to Tennessee, or outside of Virginia to settle. That still leaves the question of his parentage, but at least I can now begin to evaluate other possibilities. Thanks again.
