Surnames: Dotson/Dodson/Cummins Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/RKT.2ACIB/855.2 Message Board Post: I'm from this line in Ky-Va.: Wm. Harrison Dotson (gfather), born in Ks.; Wm. Simpson Dotson (ggrandfather) born in Ky; Wm. A[llen?] Dotson (gggrandfather), b. 1836 in Leitchfield Ky. Then he may be related to an Elizabeth Dodson who married a Cummins, as he shows up on the Cummins household census in the 1850s. Her father was a Chas. Dodson. Our DNA goes to Chas. Dodson of Va., but we've got a lot of missing links. George may indeed be in there, between Va. and Ky.
