Hi Karen, My family was a Dodson family in Bryan County. There was another Dodson family there as well and so far we have not been able to connect them. My line: Clem Alvin Dodson b. 1894 Indian Territory (Bryan County) - This is my Dad > Henry Clay Dodson b. 1863 Texas or Tennessee (family tradition always said Tennessee but census records indicate Texas) > Daniel Webster Dodson b. about 1828-1830 in Tennessee. THIS IS OUR BRICK WALL, we can't locate any information on him. DNA testing shows that we are descended from Charles Dodson Sr. the generally accepted immigrant ancestor. I do not have complete information on the other line but I believe she is descended from Elisha Dodson, born 1801; married Frances (Fannie) Thompson. > Thomas Dodson b. probably during 1770s in Virginia - probably Halifax or Pittsylvania Co; married Jemima Robinson/Robertson > Thomas Dodson b. 1728, Richmond County. Virginia; md Mary Neville > Thomas Dodson b. early 1700s in Richmond Co., VA.; md Elizabeth Rose > Thomas Dodson Sr b. 1681, in Old Rappahannock Co., VA; md. Mary Durham > Charles Dodson Jr. md Anne > Charles Dodson Sr. is generally accepted as the immigrant ancestor I saw that you had information posted on Caleb Dodson and Elizabeth Petty on Ancestry.com. Does this Nancy Jane Dodson descend from Caleb Dodson? I would be interested in sharing information with you.
