Hi, I am new to the Dodson list and I am looking for more information on my Dodson's. I know for sure that my GGG Grandmother was Salina Dodson born on Nov. 8, 1818 in Jackson Co., G. or Alabama adn she married Joseph Early Little on Oct. 27, 1845 in Anniston, Alabama. She died on Sept. 16, 1902 in Milam Co, Texas and is buried at the Bryant Station Cemetery in Milam Co. Texas. I have been to her grave several times and I have a picture of her and my GGG Grandfather together when they were very old. My grandmother was raised in the house of her Grandfather and Salina and Joseph Early Little also lived there so she remembered them. I was told that Salina's parents were Edmund Dodson born May 13, 1796 in Georgia and married Rebecca Fuller on Jan. 19, 1818 in Morgan Co., Ga. He died on Dec. 10, 1882 in Cleburne Co., Alabama. I was told that his father was Daniel Dodson and his wife was Sarah Peters. Then Daniel's father was the Rev. Joshua Dodson and his wife's name was Ruth and possibly her maiden name was Rose. Then Joshua Dodson's parents were Thomas Dodson and Dorothy Mary Durham. Then Thomas Dodson's father was Charles Dodson Sr. married to Anne Dodson, a cousin. Charles Dodson's parents were Jesse Dodson and Judith Hagger and finally Jesse Dodson's parents were John Dods from England who came to America with John Smith and settled in Jamestown. John Dobs married an indian girl named Jane Eagle Plume, daughter of Chief Eagle Plume. Does anyone know if there is a book out on this Dodson family? I'd love to purchase a copy of it if there is one. Also, I'd like to find others who are in my same line possibly from some of the other children of those mentioned above so I could find out more information about other Dodson cousins.
