Catherine Louise; b. Sep. 7-1877; bap. Jul. 30-1881. Parents: William Henry Dotson and Louise Cantor. (I had written for a copy of Kate Dodson's Birth Certificate in Nelson County and was told it could not be found so will try again using the name of Catherine born in Washington County unless you have anything to dispute this information.) The same page also listed baptisms for James b. Dec. 20-1869 bap. Aug. 8 -1883 and Elizabeth Mary b. Jul. 2-1872, bap. Jul. 22-1882 with the same parents. I visited St. Rose and was told that all of their old records had been given to the Washington County Library. The lady there just directed me to their Research section where I found these books which did list many of our ancestors (Borders - Canter - Dodson). No one seemed able to tell me what happened to the original records. Also, while visiting the Nelson County library, I uncovered another mystery. In the "Marriage, Bond & Consent Book of Nelson Co., Ky. 1886-1889" I found the following entry: Ambrose, Jacob C & Dodson, Kate C - Book 20 Married 15 March 1899 Bond 15 March 1899 Bond Signed: R.L. Hagan Married by: J.L. Reid Where: Nelson Co., Bardstown, Ky Witness: W.F. Dodson, Otho Wood (The next time I am in Bardstown I plan to visit the Archives Bldg. to see if I can find the original document. A lot of research still to be done.) If you have any information that would dispute this info, please let me know.
