Our records indicate that a Ranch Foreman by the name of Jack Wilson, reportedly born in Sherman Texas and a friend of Claude Hanna, joined the 21st on the 28th March 1918. He was later found to use two aliases : H W Dodson ( Canadian Archives records show this as his real name) and Hugh Whitmore. He was born the 14th of August 1898 in Sherman Texas. His next of kin was shown as Claude Hanna of Howe Texas. We wondered why the use of aliases. He was over 18 when he joined, so it can't be an underage thing. Was he "on the lam?" He was killed while serving with the 21st and is buried in France. This ring any bells with anyone? Thanks for your help. John P Sargeant Moderator 21sters Discussion Group
