I looked on Ancestry.com and Heritage Quest at the census. They show no Dodson/Dotson families in Tennessee in 1810 so guess they missed the census. Thought a starting point might be checking out the families living there at the time of Isaiah's birth but no such luck. Where do you have your Dodson's listed in the way of censuses reports so far? Rose Sue Steward <[email protected]> wrote: I looked on Ancestry.com and Heritage Quest at the census. I was just trying to help Donna in response to her entry on roll call. I haven't really done any research. I thought one possibility would be to find out which Dodson families in Tennessee had a young male and possibly find something that would help in getting through her brick wall. According to the book listed below only Rutherford and a portion of Grainger Co., Tennessee exist in the 1810 federal census. MAP GUIDE TO THE U.S. FEDERAL CENSUS 1790-1920 (William Thorndale and William Dollarhide) TENNESSEE 1790=All lost 1800=All lost 1810=Only Rutherford and part of Grainger exist 1820=East TN lost 1830-1880=Extant 1890=Lost 1900-1920=Extant
Thank you, Don. I thought information like this existed but didn't know if I could find it online. Then I remembered the census online links and for Tennessee 1810 they show -0- counties on line. It looks like from this information that basically anything in Tennessee prior to 1830 you are just out of luck.
