Hi, I dont have my data in front of me but I believe the date for George is closer to 1846-1848. He is buried in Eagle Creek Cemetary which is now a wooded area overlooking a steep bank above Eagle Creek and a County road. I have been on the county road and saw the bluff but didnt want to trespass over the private property from the residential area. It is a beautiful locationa for the final resting place of a pioneer! Martha was presumed dead by 1848, however, I found her on the 1850 census living with her son Rev Ruel Dodson in Vermilion Co IL. I suspect she may be buried near Ruel. That cemetary is overgrown with prairie grass and is on private property also in a designated nature preserve of the Audobon Society. I did trespass there about 10 years ago and his stone was in good condition but difficult to photograph. While the weather is cold I would like to visit there again soon to take a photograph. Ruel started the Vermilion Chapel congregation in Vermilion Co and his son, Rev George Dodson built the church on family land. It is located near the Dodson cemetery in Kennekuk County Park near Danville, IL. The Church was the inspiration for the creation of an historical village. A school, store, and farmhouse have been moved to a location near Vermilion Chapel. I took my grandchildren there this year for there Christmas celebration and winter walk.
