Historians at the Wiliamsburg Foundation in Williamsburg, VA have either the originals or access to copies of all of the existing documents from the Jamestown settlement and those of Williamsburg itself. Their expertise, library, and capability is extremely extensive, but you hve to vist personally to get in and youy must have an introduction from a internal researcher to even get into the doors of the Foundation library. Once you get inside it's security to the max and forget doing your own reaserch in an "unguided" manner I think they hold the key that can answer this question.
