Mrs. Dodson had been afflicted with heart disease for some time and during the storm between eleven and twelve o'clock Sunday night, she became very much excited and succumbed while the elements were in such a fury. Mrs. Dodson was a highly respected Christian woman. She was a faithful member of the Mill Creek Baptist Church from which the funeral services were conducted Tuesday. Mrs. Dodson is survived by her seven children, two boys and five girls who are as follows; Messrs, John and Jim Dodson, Botland; Mrs. Charlie Miller,Flordia; Mrs. Jack Riley, Mrs. Jack Ambrose, Irvinville; Mrs. Oscar Auberry, Bloomfield; and Mrs. Emma Courtney, Botland. (NOTE: Mill Creek Cemetery is 5 miles east of Bardstown on Hwy 605N to Woodlawn Road.) ((June 16, 1912)) This Obit was found in my grandmother's bible. It is the obit of her grandmother. Her mother was Martha "Mattie" Dod! son. The first child of William Henry Dodson and Delilah Louise Canter. William Henry Dodson's mother was Martha and Delilah Louisa's younger sister was Martha. I am assuming that my gr-grandmother was named after one of them. 1850 Washington Co. Ky. P. 4 Mary E. 1 mo. The Delilah L. above is the wife of William Henry "Buck" Dodson. That is why Lucinda is listed with her parents after the 1860 census's. Evidently Lucinda the older sister of Delilah L. never married. If you look at the 1850 census you will see the grandmother of Delilah, for whom she was named after. Delilah went by her middle name.
