I'm not sure this is the right Elizabeth since Thomas was born in NC. I am assuming Thomas is her son, which would have had the family leaving Virginia prior to 1800 and I found them on the 1810 census in VA. I will investigate this family further before eliminating them from my search, though. I know there were several Kerr/Carr families that moved to NC from VA. My ancestors are Dabney Kerr and his wife Elizabeth A. (both from Virginia) that moved to Gallia County, Ohio between 1830-1832. My Elizabeth A. (everything with her name included the A) stated she was 68 in 1850, which would have been too young to get married in 1794. It is possible she gave an incorrect age on the census. I am hoping to prove or disprove that Dabney Kerr and Elizabeth A Dodson of Cumberland, VA are the same Dabney and Elizabeth A Kerr of Gallia, Ohio. With the exception of a few older sons that may not have moved with them to Ohio, the ages of the children in 1810 match what I know about the family in Ohio. It could be coincidence, however, and am looking for additional information to help determine if there is a connection between the two families.
