I had forgotten that a Dodson was a mayor in Hollidaysburg, so thank you for jogging my memory. That's a great idea. I'm curious too...did your Thomas show in a Cumberland County census at one point...memory is slipping on what year..early 1800s maybe? Also, have you found his ancestral line? We've embarked on this overwhelming task of who all the Dodsons we've found in Pa., and at least Frederick County, Md. were, and how they connect (if they connect). He was a mystery to us still. I'd like to share our site with you...maybe you would have some time to look it over. We tracked Michael of Thomas and Mary, and because of wills of John Evans and William Evans are sure that the Michael in Frederick, Md. was the Michael of Thomas Dodson in Chester. So, we definitely agree there. There were several who moved from Frederick to Bedford, and wound up in different counties as new counties formed. Several allied families from Frederick also moved into Bedford and Fayette Counties with the Dodsons, i.e. Farquhars, Lingenfelters, Justices, Brightwell, and some others. Thanks again, Janet.
