Mick, I saw your posting that was forwarded to the Dodson rootsweb list. I have the Dodson family book that you're referencing, but it is no longer in print I don't believe and it only covers the Dodson line in America, so I'm not sure it would be of any use to you. However, there is something that might be interesting and might help both family lines. The American Dodsons have never discovered their roots overseas, to my knowledge. However, several American Dodsons have been participating in a DNA for genealogy project. Roy Dodson who participates on this list is the administrator for the group. I have copied him on this posting but he does travel so doesn't always have access to the internet every day. I don't think I'm allowed to post the name of the company doing the testing on rootsweb, but I'll e-mail you privately in a minute so you can go to the website and check this out. I have a Byrd Granville b. TN.1820 in Larue County KY. 1850. with a Mary b. 1794.listed as Mother. B.G. married Elizabeth Ellen Willen. They were the Parents of a Joshua Allen b. 1844 who married Wilmouth Mildred Tucker. J.A. and Aunt Willie had William Albert who married Maggie Hodges. Don't know where B.G. and E.E. are buried,but J.A. and Albert's families are all buried in Kansas. There is a lot of info on Ancestry on these people. I have more including some pictures that my Aunt said is Albert and Mags family. I remember these people coming to my Grandfathers house when I was very small. Albert was a cousin to Grandpa and Mag was a sister to Grandpa's first wife.

Yes Griffith's third wife was Bell Rule. He was buried at Brumfield Cemetery where his first two wives were buried and which was north of Griffith's homestead before he sold the land. It is unclear is the cemetery can still be found or not. Bell Rule is buried in Baldwin Ks. cemetery.

One remains in Frederick Co. near Liberty Town Md. by 1800. The other has moved to Bedford Co. Pa by 1800. I believe that the John that remained in Md. in the Liberty Town district [near Howard's Mill] is the weaver. The John that went to Pa. was a farmer. It has been said that John the farmer came from the TaneyTown area. Because I do not know what the different districts were in 1790 I can not separate the two Johns.
