Surnames: DODS/DODSON/EAGLE PLUME Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/RKT.2ACIB/1544 Message Board Post: FROM Melissa Bryan as told to me: I'm not saying give uo on our history, that is the last thing that I would ever want anyone in our family to do. Just go a different direction with this. instead of looking at written records, go about lookng oral records. Ask the Tribe themselves, ask for an Elder & then write down what is oral. You will likely be very surprised @ the results. Then we can begin by having these records. Combined with the old information this will likely give a greater understanding & picture of what life was like in our family all those hundreds of years ago. But whatever you do, please don't give up but lets remain united as a famiy with the common goal of coming to a unified conclusion that we are 1/2 Native American & 1/2 Anglo American. The true carriers of the Dodson Family bloodline will have a D shaped inden- tation on their body. I have mine on my right thigh above my right knee about mid thigh & this will denote a true carrier of legitimate bloodline of the DODS/DODSON DNA. I have mine so am a true lineal carrier. Soon I will be getting my certificate as a Certified Professional Genealogist so therefore will be able to help others in this quest for our families heritage. As told to me by Melissa Bryan after sending her copies of the messages posted here. She does not have a computer until the end of July or mid August.

This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/RKT.2ACIB/1541 Message Board Post: Rudolphus D. Dodson Rudolphus D. Dodson, born in Peach Bottom Township, February 27, 1856, is the youngest of four sons of Henry and Elizabeth (McCurdy) Dodson, the former a native of Ireland, and the latter of York County, and also of Irish parentage. The subject of this notice was reared on a farm, attending school in the winter until, at the age of sixteen, he entered a dug store in York, where he remained a year and a half. Some time after this he began the study of dentistry with Dr. W. C. McCurdy, in Baltimore County, Md., with whom he remained two years. Returning to York County he practiced about two years, and then entered the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery, where he remained one term. In the fall of 1882 he entered the University of Maryland, from the dental department of which he graduated in March, 1883. Since that time he has pursued his profession with success at Delta. He married Miss. Rose A. Poist, of Peach Bottom Township, April 17, 1876, and has two children: Henry M. a! nd Elizabeth O. He is the owner of a fine house in Delta, lately erected, and though a young man, has a lucrative practice.
