He evidently had a son named John who named his son Ganum Emery Dodson. My father was also Ganam Emery Dodson II and my brother is Ganam Emery Dodson III. I have hit brick walls going back before 1809 and his marriage to Nancy P. Thompson. No info on Nancy P. Thompson's family either. Have you learned anything new since you wrote the query to Ancestry? I have about 6 different spellings of Gaimon, Garnum, Ganum, Gaymon, all middle initials were M (for Emery or Emory per family history). I, my sister and brother all have DNA testing done through ancestry. Thomas Dodson relatives seem to come up most under Dodson and DNA. My cousin said John's father was called Green. He was born August 24, 1926 in Columbus, OH to the late Lloyd and Janis (Scott) Dodson. He was a graduate of South High School and a WWII Army Air Force veteran. Lloyd was a member of Masonic Lodge #97, Scottish Rite, VFW #1388 and American Legion Post #144. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed boating, fishing, hunting, travel and especially spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his son James Patrick; and sister Ruth Ann Dodson. Lloyd is survived by Helen his loving wife of 44 years; children Jeffrey (Karen) Dodson, Jodi (Irv) Christenson and Douglas Dodson; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her name was Mary Ellen Sanders. Her mother was Mary Ellen Dodson (or just Ellen Dodson) and married Joseph Warren Sanders on July 16, 1891. Mary Ellen (or Ellen) was born December 1874 possibly in Missouri. Her parents were Edward Dodson born abt. 1843 in Tennessee and Elisabeth Dodson (do not know maiden name) born abt. 1848 in South Carolina. Their other children were George, Edward, and Cassie.
